St. Joseph Catholic School welcomed St. Mary Catholic School from Charlevoix, Michigan along with a semi-truck filled with donations for St. Joseph’s families and staff affected by the destruction of Hurricane Harvey.

St Mary Catholic School and its community gathered household items, furniture, and clothing for five St. Joseph families and three staff members. Northern Logistics, a trucking company in Michigan, also donated a driver and an 18-wheeler to deliver the items to St. Joseph.

It was such a joy to see our school and community gather outside to welcome representatives from St. Mary, Doug Buday and Jane Balasz, and to assist in unloading the truck. Our gym was completely filled with supplies and an array of furniture.

Representatives from Baytown Sun and Guadalupe Radio KSHJ AM 1430 also attended the event to help spread the word about our needs. You can read the article here and listen to the live recording here.
