Leah Dumanlang Wins First Place in Science Fair

Leah Dumanlang, a seventh grade student at St. Joseph Regional Catholic School received first place in the Archdiocesan Junior High School science fair. The event took place at St. Thomas More Parish School in Houston, Texas on January 20, 2017.

The Archdiocesan Fair is open to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston schools. Leah’s Project, the Effect of Fruits on Blood Glucose Levels, earned her first place in the Life Science Division.

Congratulations to all of our Bluejays who participated in the science fair. We are so proud of you! Below is a list of all of our Jr. high science fair winners.

The winners of our 2017 science fair:

8th grade:

1st place – Mikaela Jernsletten, 2nd place – Kailee Gonzales, 3rd place – Aracely Gonzales

7th grade:

1st place – Leah Dumanland, 2nd Place – Galeana Castro, 3rd place – Jenae Gomez

6th grade:

1st place – Kannigan Jones, 2nd place – Dylan Williams, 3rd place – Jorge Morfin
